Will Indian eBay Seller Services Witness a Turnaround?

I came across a post on one of my favorite blogs about eBay’s PowerShip Program which aims to solve the logistics problems faced by their users in India.

If it were an in-house courier system with friendly personnel just a phone call away, that would definitely make the eBay experience more pleasant for both buyers and sellers. In fact, that factor is one of the key advantages of Flipkart.

Is the tie-up with major courier companies going to benefit? Well, I haven't been very happy with the quality of courier services in India.

Courier Services and Reliability

A major challenge for eBay India and its new partners in the courier industry that covers vast expanses of the country would be to restore confidence among its users while shouldering the additional load.

More than once, I’ve had to put up with claims from delivery men that I wasn’t at home or failed to answer the phone when they arrived, when in fact this wasn’t true.

eBay Shipping from India

There are countless complaints of in-transit losses blamed at poor care or pilferage during transit, and I can personally confirm them.

We know from recent history that the DHL-Blue Dart tie-up has been lacklustre at best. Success is likely to be ensured when quality is implemented from a grassroots level, and that’s what makes Flipkart stand out.
